Goals
A goal is an opt-in, time-boxed intention: "X within an N-day window" — log something on 5 of 7 days, or reach 150 minutes of exercise in a week. It is deliberately quiet: progress reads as a factual "N of M", and there are no streaks, no scores, and no shame vocabulary anywhere.
What a goal can measure
A goal targets one tracker — or one single tag of an Amount tags tracker — and measures one of:
- Days with content — on how many days of the window you logged that tracker at all (any type). A calendar day counts once; backdated entries count; editing or deleting entries moves progress accordingly.
- Value sum — the total logged in the window (Amount trackers, and Amount tags totals or single tags).
Rating thresholds ("mood at least 7") are deliberately not offered: the app observes and never assesses, and a target on your own subjective scale would cross that line.
A goal runs once or repeats window over window — your choice at creation. At most one goal per target. Progress is always computed live from your entries; nothing about a goal is ever written into your data.
Where goals live
- Home shows the goals card — one row per goal with its "N of M". Tapping a row opens logging. No goals, no card.
- Customize → Goals is the one configuration screen: create, edit, reorder, delete. An ended one-shot goal reads "ended {date} · N of M" with the option to re-arm or remove it.
Goals have no presence in Stats, exports of your data, or the PDF report.
The nudge
Each goal can opt into one notification per window, at 19:00, and only when it is about to become pointful: for day-count goals at the point where you'd need every remaining day, for sum goals on the second-to-last day. It states the facts — "N of M · X days left" — and nothing else.
Tapping the nudge opens logging and re-arms it for the next window. Swipe-dismissing it silences the rest of this window — the app never asks twice. The nudge is the one carved-out exception to "reminders never depend on your data", and it stays strictly bounded: one per window, re-armed only by your own tap.
